We know it may be too soon to say for sure, but we have a sneaking suspicion that the latest series of Love Island may be the best.
We’ve only had a sneak peak of the Love Island 2024 Islanders, but we’re already impressed. One contestant who is sure to wow us is Patsy Field. Patsy has been single for the last three years but hopes that Love Island will be her chance to find the one.
Patsy is also the first person to compete on Love Island with the disability Erb's palsy. When we sat down with Patsy before filming began, we asked if she’s hoping to fly the flag for representation whilst in the Love Island villa and what that means to her.
“Yeah, definitely. Whenever the moment is ready, really from the moment I go in, whenever's appropriate.
"I'm really happy to talk about it, explain it to everyone who wants to know about the condition and about how I kind of get on with my life with having it. And I definitely want to be good representation to anyone who has my condition or similar conditions because I'm sure people who haven't got the exact same thing will be feeling similar watching someone on Love Island with this.
"Just thinking that, ‘Okay, well if she can go on there and be this confident, and be body confident, then I can do similar things,’ and I hope I'm an inspiration. I hope.”

Patsy told Closer that she actually has an inside connection to the show, although she didn’t use that to her advantage when applying for the show.
“I am friends with Lili [Piper]. And obviously I know Sophie [Piper] through being Lili's sister and I love Sophie. They're both such lovely girls. And they didn't actually know that I was coming on.
"They didn't even know that I was in talks or anything. So, I'm sure it was a surprise to them. It would have been good to get some tips wouldn't it? But I was trying to just keep it to myself as much as possible.”
Why did Patsy Field go on Love Island?
Patsy told Closer, “I am definitely ready to meet someone now. I'm 29 and been single for the last three years. So I feel like it is probably a good time to find someone.
"I'm just not meeting them day to day in my normal life. I don't use dating apps. And I'm not going out to the bars as much as I was when I was 21. So I'm hoping, I'm hoping I'm going to find him in the next couple of days.”
Sounds achievable, there’s no better dating app than Love Island after all.
