After being cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, Love Island finally returned to ITV2 on 28 June and the series has been explosive to say the least.
Even though the whole idea of Love Island is to er, find love, every single year we are blown away by the outfits and the beauty hacks that come from the show. From Gabby Allen's space buns to Amber Gill's curls, looking glamorous around the clock is a full-time job. How do they look so polished? How do they get those bouncy blow dries all by themselves? Is there a secret salon in the villa?
We've got all your hair questions answered...
Do Love Island contestants have a hairdresser?
Despite all those getting ready scenes where we see the Love Island stars curling, straightening and blow-drying their locks themselves, 2019 star Yewande Biala has revealed that the Islanders do get a little help on the way.
"[The hairdressers] come in every two weeks and we get our nails done, lashes and sometimes our extensions done.
"You can kind of going for anything you want but you can't change the colour of your hair because then people will just not recognise you anymore," she told Closer.
And in a interview with Vice, Iain Stirling revealed that although the early series of the show were much more âdo it yourselfâ in the preening department, the stars do get hair and beauty support once in a while. Especially on the final night.
He explained, "There's more professional support with hair and beauty now, I think.
"If you jump on ITVHub and watch the early series, by the end they all look quite scruffy â now they don't."
ITV also confirmed reports, admitting to Bustle that they do get access to hair and beauty treatments but not every single day.
"Most of the time they do their own but on occasion, they have hair or beauty treatments (usually inside the villa)â, they fessed.
There we were thinking they did all that work themselves.

What Love Island girls 2021 have hair extensions?
Quite a few of the Islanders have hair extensions so we've had a look at exactly what they've had done...
Faye's hair extensions
It looks as though Faye has tape hair extensions which are pretty ideal because they can last between six to eight weeks which is usually the duration of a series. Although if the wind blows in the wrong direction it's pretty obvious that you've got extensions...
Kaz's hair extensions
It appears that Kaz wears a wig in the villa. Before heading onto the show, the influencer shared an Instagram Reel of the glueless wig she wears and it looks incredible.
Chloe's hair extensions
Chloe also has hair extensions and thanks to an eagle eyed fan it turns out she has micro rings. They're probably the most subtle hair extensions unless they're on show of course.
Liberty's hair extensions
Liberty may have hair extensions but she made sure she was fully prepared for her time in the villa.
"I do have extensions in, so like my hair is like my pride and joy," she admitted.
"Obviously, as you know, sometimes with the sun coming into contact with your hair it can go pink or orange. But I've literally got purple shampoo, I've got argan oil.
"I literally got everything I could possibly bring with me to maintain it."

What hair tools do the Islanders use?
Even though hairdressers arenât always readily available, Islanders do have access to the best equipment to get them looking their best. In the past two seasons they have had access to Dyson hairdressers and Cloud Nine have been named as the official hair partner of the upcoming 2021 series.

In past seasons, Love Island bosses have signed up contestants who are hairdressers. Kem Cetinay, the winner of the 2017 series, was seen giving his fellow Islanders the odd trim and Grace Wardle famously gave her love interest at the time Dr Alex George a quick tidy up.
Can Love Island stars dye their hair in the villa?
Islanders famously sign up to weeks in a segregated villa away from the outside world, away from nail appointments and hair appointments, and over the years weâve seen contestants moan about root growth and not being able to get a proper blow dry.
Well, according to Yewande no but viewers began to question the beauty regimes of the Islanders back in 2018 when Dani Dyer was seen with freshly-dyed hair during the series. She went from a strawberry blonde to a dark brunette and fans were convinced that there must be a secret salon in the infamous villa.
Maybe Dani is the exception to the rule?
A spokesperson for ITV later confirmed to Digital Spy that "all the girls had hair and beauty treatments in the villa in the last few days" - letting the cat out of the bag.
Dani is clearly a big love of haircare as she was seen using a wet brush on hers during her time in the villa - perfect for when you're in and out of the pool and want to get rid of tangles.
Molly-Maeâs iconic bun
Molly-Mae Hague's signature bun is almost as famous as the influencer herself. It's immaculate and we are astounded every-time we look at it. How does she get it so perfect? Why is it a perfect circle? How does she get no flyaway hairs?
Luckily for Love Island viewers, Molly filmed her very own tutorial - from inside the villa -showing viewers how they can create the look themselves.
In the video clip, Molly talks through the process step-by-step and it turns out that her self-titled 'Everyday Bun' is simply a twisted top knot, which takes around 3o seconds to create.
Have you mastered it yet?
How did they style Amber Gillâs hair for the 2019 final?
The finale night of Love Island is pretty special and it's no secret that the guys and girls get dressed up to the nines to celebrate the last night before they return to normal life
In 2019, stylist Gemma Wheatcroft shares how she kept winner Amber Gill's honey-highlighted curls looking perfect.
Throughout the series, Amber's hair looked soft and frizz-free despite the summer sun. The secret? BouclĂšme Curl Cream. "I used the BouclĂšme Curl Cream mixed with water in a spritz to refresh her curls for her final evening look," explained Gemma.

Do Love Island stars wear wigs?
There's no limit to what Love Island contestants can pack in their suitcases for their stay and we're often blown away by how much make-up they pack, the sunglasses they wear and the hair pieces they use to switch things up of an evening.
Priscilla Anyabu, who starred in the sixth series of the show, walked into the villa with black hair and was not afraid to switch things up with wigs. That blonde wig she wore in Casa Amor and the look on Mike Boateng's face? ICONIC.
It's safe to say, there are no limits when it comes to hairstyles.
Former Islanders hair extensions
Molly-Mae was an influencer before she even went into the villa and after leaving she became a brand ambassador for Beauty Works and has even brought out her own hair kits.
She's since revealed her "favourite" argan serum and the products she uses when she has curly hair.
Love Island 2019 star Anna Vakili has also been honest about wearing wigs and fans went wild when she showed off her icy blonde hair transformation.
