Unfortunately we are fast approaching the end of Love Island All Stars, also known as one of the best series of Love Island ever put to screen and we’ve had over ten series now, so it’s a pretty stiff competition.
Don’t get us wrong, we knew All Stars would be amazing. The best of the best former Islanders all shoved into a tropical villa - that’s what great telly is made of.
Despite these expectations, we never would have anticipated the heights All Stars would reach. Who could have foreseen the downfall of nation’s former sweetheart Chris Taylor, or the reunion of exes Molly Smith and Callum Jones - are we absolutely hopeless in wishing they would get back together in time for the final?
Arguably the best part of All Stars is the brutal dumpings, and it seems like there’s about five of them every episode lately. One such dumping occurred when Joe Garratt and Joanna Chimonides were voted out by their Islanders - for the second time each in Love Island history.
So, when we were reunited with Joe for Closer Secrets, we made sure to make the most of our time with the dreamiest sandwich man in South London. Despite him being in the All Stars villa for less than a week, we had no shortage of questions for him.
One thing we love to ask Islanders is whether or not they managed to knab anything from the villa on their way out. We’d probably have our eyes on the wardrobes full of pre-owned clothes, but Joe had something else in mind.
“I kept my sippy cup. I did not have that last time.”
He’s a simple man of simple tastes, what can we say? So what, you may ask, is he planning on doing with this memento?
“I just gave it to my mum, she’s buzzing.”
Who wouldn’t be buzzing to receive a used sippy cup from their son?
Let’s hope the next Islander to be dumped can grab something a bit more substantial.
