He was thrown into the spotlight on the fifth series of Love Island back in 2019 but, four years on, Curtis Pritchard has put the drama behind him and now lives a low-key life, focusing on his production company, which he founded with Strictly star brother AJ Pritchard, and his YouTube channel.
Curtis, 27, was on one of the most-watched series of the show ever, starring alongside Molly-Mae Hague, Tommy Fury, Amber Gill and Lucie Donlan.
And after his ill-fated relationships with Amy Hart and Maura Higgins, Curtis now keeps his love life out of the headlines and is quietly dating his pantomime co-star Sophie Sheridan, after meeting in 2021.
Curtis says that the lessons he’s learned since finding fame have been to not get swept up in the drama of post-Love Island life. He says, “I’ve learned to not think about life in terms of social media and influencers. Instead, I think of the things I love to do and focus on those. It’s important to not take life too seriously.”
Curtis – who has had TV stints on Celebs Go Dating, Hollyoaks, The Greatest Dancer and Celebrity SAS since leaving the villa – ruffled feathers during his time on Love Island after Amy walked out of the villa, heartbroken, when he ended their romance.
Curtis and their fellow Islander, Maura, ended up becoming an item and reached the final together. They dated for eight months after the show, but split amidst conflicting work schedules.
While Curtis had a turbulent time on Love Island, he did have a sweet bromance with Tommy, with the pair even going on to have their own spin-off ITV show together called The Boxer and The Ballroom Dancer.
And as well as Tommy, he surprisingly still keeps in touch with ex Amy – who is dating Sam Rason and recently gave birth to their first child together, Stanley. He says, “I have congratulated Amy. I’m so happy for her. She’s found The One, and she’s found her love.
“And huge congratulations to Tommy and Molly. I haven’t met Bambi yet, but I think Tommy will be the most fun and great dad.”
And when asked whether he fancies following in their footsteps and becoming a dad, he says, “I feel very happy at the moment so I won’t be doing anything like that any time soon. I’ve still got things I want to achieve first.”
he summer series of Love Island will return to our screens in June, following the winter series that finished in March. While the show has had huge viewing figures over the past few years, the numbers during the last season were significantly lower – with fans questioning whether the show had lost its zest.
But Curtis reveals he’s looking forward to another series, saying, “I’m excited for it to be back! I think the winter one doesn’t get as many views as the summer series because it’s the wrong time of the year. When it’s the summer show, we can relate to it because we’re in that summer vibe and we want to go on holiday. While, with the winter one, it’s raining and freezing outside – and they’re in the sun, so we don’t gel as much with it.”
