If there’s one thing we’ve learned from ten series of Love Island, it’s that it doesn’t take a lot to break up a relationship in that villa. Case in point earlier this summer when Scott van-der-Sluis’ relationship with Catherine Agbaje – which had been going swimmingly for two weeks – came to a bitter end when she recoupled with Elom Ahlijah-Wilson in Casa Amor.
Scott’s been a bit lost ever since, but it seems things are finally looking up for him now that he’s in a couple with Abi Moores following her split from Mitchel Taylor.
However, some Islanders aren’t quite convinced that Abi has entirely moved on from her romance with Mitch. But what does Catherine think about her former flame’s new relationship? Well, we made it our mission to find out when she joined us at Closer HQ this week.
When quizzed on whether Abi and Scott are a good match, Catherine said, “I think potentially, but where her head is still stuck on Mitch it’s unfair on Scott.”
Elom chimed in, “Abi’s heart is with Mitch, but her mind is with Scott.”
He even teased a potential Abi and Mitch reunion, adding, “We’ve just got to wait and see…”
As for how she feels about Scott after all that Casa Amor drama, Catherine explained, “Scott and I are friends. From all of that we actually built a good, strong friendship because the foundation was like we care for each other and we know sh*t about each other other people don’t know. We were able to build off that.
“We’re close. We had a lot of moments together after that whole situation that wasn’t shown.”
Even Elom seems a fan of Catherine’s ex as he added, “Big up Scottisha!” We love to see it.
Who knows, we could be seeing Abi and Scott x Catherine and Elom double dates on the outside world if it all works out. Got room for a fifth wheel, guys? No? Okay then...
