Women making smoothie with Nutribullet

At the start of the year, I made it my resolution to be healthier and hit the gym. Alongside sticking to a routine workout schedule, I wanted to focus on eating better. To ensure I stuck to it, I bought myself a NutriBullet in the January sales. Before I made this panic purchase, here are four things I wish I knew beforehand:

1. It’s about to become my favourite kitchen gadget

As cliché as it sounds, I honestly don’t know how I lived without it. This week, I’ve used it every day. Last night, I created a delicious katsu curry by blending the ingredients for the sauce with it. Alongside encouraging me to cook more, it’s been hugely beneficial to me because it’s enabled me to eat a more balanced diet. Something I’ve never managed to get right before, and as a result, I feel like I have a lot more energy.

2. It’s not just for smoothies

To begin with, I bought my NutriBullet purely to create smoothies, so that I could stop buying bacon sandwiches in the office. For the first couple of weeks, it was easy to stick to a liquid breakfast, but after a while, I found my motivation dipped. To boost morale, I started to research different recipes, and it opened up a whole new world of opportunity. From piña colada cocktails to vegan whipped cream and even a body sugar scrub, this baby could help make it all.

3. You can watch NutriBullet 101 videos online

Before buying and using my NutriBullet, I didn’t do any research. I knew that this appliance was really great for extracting nutrients from different ingredients, but that was about it. Once I’d set it up and started using it, I slowly began to realise I needed to know more about it; especially as specific maintenance is needed to keep it clean. The tutorials online explaining how to clean NutriBullets is simple and easy to follow. Hopefully by watching these, you won’t have the dregs of a blueberry smoothie splatter across your ceiling, which is what I managed to do…

4. It’s SO quick and easy to use

I’m always on the go and having a NutriBullet means I can prepare my food quickly. The lidded cups were an unexpected bonus for me; they’ve been super useful and it’s how I transport my fresh smoothies into work every day. If you hadn’t realised already, I’m completely obsessed with drinking them for breakfast. Before I didn’t even make time to grab a bowl of cereal, and now I’m springing out of bed to chop strawberries and pineapples. If I’m honest, the longest and most difficult part about using a NutriBullet is preparing ahead of time. Don’t worry, there’s a simple solution around this; all I do is create a weekly chart and stick to my shopping list.
