How much do you spend per week?

Around £80-90. I support local businesses, whether it’s the deli to get my cheeses and oils, or the fishmonger for fresh produce. If you shop local, you can find bargains!

Describe your daily diet…

For breakfast, a bowl of Yeo Valley yoghurt with double cream, a drizzle of local honey and roasted almonds. For lunch, bacon served with toasted sourdough, fried egg, onion chutney and crispy chilli. Dinner is usually something traditional, like Shepherd’s pie, chicken curry, or carbonara. I’m not a calorie counter. I enjoy food!

What do you snack on?

I bake a lot. I recently made 15 Nigella Lawson’s Blondie cakes with chocolate chips. I’m partial to an Aero chocolate, and I like Reese’s peanut butter with a teatime cuppa.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve eaten?

When I was a travel writer I’d get sent all over the world. In Australia, I had crocodile steaks, which tasted like chicken and fish. I’m the least fussy person. I will try anything!

What would you cook to impress?

It’s my mission to create the perfect burger. I use local beef to create a patty, M&S brioche burger buns and load them with caramelised onions, blue cheese, chilli and mayo.

What’s your takeaway order?

A fantastic place near me in Mumbles, Wales, called Môr, serves a Sunday roast using local beef and pies.

Verdict

Nutritionist Juliette Kellow says: “If Sian added fruit to her yogurt, served lunch with salad and packed dinners with veg, she’d get closer to five-a-day.

“Cream, bacon and chocolate are loaded with fat, especially saturates, the type linked to poorer heart health. So snacking on unsalted nuts, fruit and veg sticks or wholemeal pitta with tzatziki would help balance her meals.”
