Following Dawn Ward’s departure from the ITVBe show, Tanya Bardsley has the honour of being the only Real Housewives of Cheshire cast member who has starred on the show since the very first series.
Tanya first appeared on our screens back in 2015 and we’ve got to know her very well since then. Her husband Phil occasionally makes a cameo on the show alongside her, but just how much do we know about him?
With the latest series of RHOC airing right now, we thought we’d take a deep dive into Tanya’s relationship with her footballer hubby.
Who is Phil Bardsley?
Phil Bardsley is a 32-year-old professional footballer who plays for Premier League team Burnley and the Scotland national team. He started his career at Manchester United in 2003 and has also previously played for Sunderland and Stoke City.
Phil is also married to The Real Housewives of Cheshire reality star Tanya Bardsley.
How did Tanya Bardsley meet her husband Phil?
Phil and Tanya knew each other through mutual friends in Manchester, although she previously revealed she had initially rejected his advances.
Opening up about when they first met, Tanya explained, "Phil asked me out via text after spotting me on the cover of FHM magazine. I had seen him out and about in Manchester and we had mutual friends.
"For three years I told him to f--k right off. I got so fed up I eventually gave in and went on a date just to shut him up. Incredibly, we’ve been together ever since."
When did Tanya and Phil Bardsley get married?
Phil and Tanya got married on 7 June 2014 at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, a popular wedding destination for the rich and famous. Tanya wore a white lace dress and a sparkly tiara for the traditional ceremony before she and Phil jetted off on their honeymoon to Las Vegas.

Phil and Tanya are parents to three sons; Rocco, 11, Renz, seven, and Ralphi, three. Tanya is also mum to 18-year-old daughter Gabrielle from a previous relationship.

Tanya is the only remaining RHOC star who has appeared since the very first series and her husband Phil has regularly popped up on the show over the years, although he usually stays out of all the drama between the housewives. That’s probably for the best!
