Stacey Solomon took to Instagram last night to question whether it's the right time to let her two young sons have their own mobile phones.

Stacey, 28, is mum to Zachary, 9, and five-year-old Leighton from her previous relationships, and often gushes about her two boys on her Instagram.

The TV presenter, who is in a relationship with fellow personality Joe Swash, is often seen posting about her sons on her social media pages, and is praised for how real and "normal" she seems.

But last night, she took to Instagram to seek advice from fellow parents about an issue she was facing with her little lads.

It's a question that all parents these days will have to ask themselves from now on - when is my child ready for their own phone?

Posting an adorable photo of Stacey snuggled up with her two lads, Stacey posed an interesting question.

She wrote: "Is anyone else having serious trouble with smart phone envy? Lots of my eldest son's friends have phones and I'm so against it!

"I feel like I'm in a constant battle where I look like the annoying mum who's trying to crumple any existence of a social life outside school! I just want him to be a child and not worry about Whatsapp/Social media/Internet."

The post has garnered nearly 13,000 likes already, which of course means there are many other parents who are struggling with the same scenario as Stace.

However, she seemed to have found a solution to her problem with a new gadget she was trying out, adding that the devices had "given me a good few months of peace on the western front regarding phones!"

Stacey was flooded with comments from other parents, with one writing: "My daughter is 7 and is already asking for an iphone! All her friends have them apparantly, they don't! She isn't getting one, or any other phone!"

Another added: "I'’ve done the same! I thinks it's great how you're really highlighting this problem, phones I think encourage to much privacy at a young age. Also the things they can innocently stumble across at the touch of a button it's scary! And corruptive! My girl has just started high school and in November I'm getting her an iPhone....but there will be restrictions 😬 you do feel like you're being a fun buster but it'll be worth it in the end!!!"

One person commented: "No you're not an annoying mum Stacey you are a fantastic mum a great role model to your boys they are a credit to you."
