After it was announced that Dermot O’Leary would be returning as the host, and the show would be bringing back the intimate room auditions, will ITV make number three with the return of fan favourite Louis?
The panel of judges is in need of one more face after Nick Grimshaw quit and Louis Tomlinson passed up the opportunity and apparently Simon has been in talks with Louis in LA.
According to The Mirror, Louis has flown out to Los Angeles to meet Simon and discuss a possible comeback deal.
The pair are set to meet on the set of America’s Got Talent today, and a source said that Simon had previously met Dermot in LA last week just before it was announced that he would be returning.
“Simon met Dermot O’Leary in Los Angeles last week and a few days later he was announced as the show host.”
So could this mean the same for Louis Walsh?
“It is no coincidence that Louis is in LA spending time with Simon too,” the source added.
“If the meeting goes well and there are no last minute hitches then Louis will almost certainly be a judge again. It’s just a case of juggling the judging panel.”
The 63 year old Irishman first appeared as a judge on The X Factor in 2004 and has been a permanent judge for 11 shows (including when he was briefly dropped mid-series in 2007 but returned later in the same show). However he did not appear in the 2015 series as he decided he was not “hanging around for them”.
