For years, Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott have been reality TV’s golden couple, whose relationship seemed unshakeable. But there might be trouble in paradise, as they are reportedly holding “crisis talks” amid allegations their romance is on the rocks.
Rumours started after Made In Chelsea star Sam, 31, was photographed being comforted by his best friend Pete Wicks after he broke down in tears at the TRIC Awards.
According to reports, Sam’s tears came after an argument between him and Zara, 27, at their London home. Following the alleged argument, Zara went to stay with her parents in Essex, then headed off to Mallorca for work. She has since returned to the UK, where the pair are said to be trying to work through their issues.
Presenting his podcast with TOWIE star Pete last week, Sam addressed his emotional outburst at the TRIC Awards. The I’m A Celebrity..! winner insisted that he hadn’t been crying, but explained, “I had actually received some bad news, so I was genuinely really sad.”
It’s not the first time the couple, who got together in 2019 when Sam messaged the Love Island star on Instagram, have dealt with relationship drama in public. The couple briefly separated in 2020 after being rocked by a cheating scandal when Zara admitted to cheating on Sam while she was appearing on The X Factor: Celebrity. The break-up played out in an explosive argument on Made In Chelsea, but Sam forgave Zara and they reunited months later.
Before dating Zara, Sam romanced Made In Chelsea castmates Tiffany Watson and Sophie Habboo, as well as designer Riley Uggla. Zara, meanwhile, met Adam Collard in the Love Island villa and dated him for eight months on the outside. When the pair split, Zara called the relationship “toxic.”
