Paul's behaviour was slammed by viewers of their fly-on-the-wall parenting show, Sam Faiers: The Mummy Diaries, earlier this year.
But Sam Faiers has ignored the haters and made a big return with a second series of the show, which follows the couple's lives as new parents.
Opening up to this week's Closer magazine, mum-of-one Sam says it was unfair her publicity-shy boyfriend was branded "lazy" for asking her to cook him dinner as she breastfed, and ridiculed for an "awkward" kiss with his mum.
She's also refreshingly honest about the pressures of parenthood on their romance.
Sam says: "The sleepless nights and exhaustion puts a lot of pressure on your relationship. But we're a team, and Paul's a very hands-on dad. It's made our relationship so much stronger.
"I used to go out all the time, but I don't miss those nights out at all. You're more likely to see me on TV in my pyjamas with no make-up on now.
"I loved my time on TOWIE, but I would never go back."

Sam Faiers: The Mummy Diaries returns on 12 October on ITVBe.
