The former TOWIE star now keeps her symptoms in check with a healthy diet, which she believes has left her in the best shape of her life.
Prior to being diagnoses with the chronic condition, Sam was becoming extremely malnourished and weak.
“My body was just shutting down because there was just nothing inside me - I couldn't keep anything down, not even water,” she explained to a UK newspaper.
“My family had tried to stay positive, and said it might just be a tummy bug, but I knew it was something more - you know your own body.”
23-year-old Sam was determined to get well again following the life-changing diagnosis.
“Even when I was diagnosed, I didn't want to make a fuss. I just wanted to concentrate on getting back to normal. I'm quite strong - I'm not an "ill" person.”
Sam has had to completely alter her diet, leaving out more acidic items such as tomatoes.

“I've learned that even after a couple of glasses of wine, I feel really rough the next day,' she said. 'Wine is so acidic.”
The ex-reality star’s party days are well and truly behind her.
“Now I'll just have a G&T - and I definitely drink less than I used to.”
Sam has also had to give up some of her favourite foods.
“I also can't eat popcorn - it really affects me, which is a shame as I used to really love it.”
“I'm cutting out carbs where I can, but I need to keep my energy up, eating little and often.”
Sam- who has recently become an auntie to baby niece Nelly- wants to help others who suffer from Crohn’s.
“I want to continue raising awareness and help other people deal with their condition like me, with confidence,” she says.
