This isn't a promising sign

It looks as though Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea won’t be taking the traditional spin off route post-Love Island win, as ITV bosses aren’t convinced they’re in it for the long haul.

Greg won over Amber and the nation is a matter of days when he soared to first place alongside the only remaining original Islander, and since arriving back in the UK fans have been enamoured with their blossoming romance and Greg’s evident infatuation with his new beau.

However, producers aren’t entirely convinced, and are holding off announcing a spin-off show over fears they won’t be together long enough to make a series.

“It’s been a publicity disaster in previous years, when couples split before their show aired or appeared to get back together just as the programmes came out,” a source told The Sun.

“Jack and Dani’s series was a perfect example last year, with everyone saying their relationship was fake. This year bosses want to take the heat off the contestants’ relationships, especially as it’s been such a choppy year for couples making a go of it.

“Instead they are focusing on Winter Love Island and want to nail the casting for that series.

“Of course, they’re keeping a close eye on their couples to spot any potential for spin-off shows, but at the moment it’s certainly not looking likely.”

There were famously no couples from the 2018 series who lasted anywhere close to year – and with only one couple “official” at the time of leaving the villa, it’s not looking promising for the 2019 series either.

Despite announcing they’d gone official on Friday evening, Sunday’s reunion show after party threw a spanner in the works for Harley Brash and Chris Taylor as he appeared to swap numbers with Casa Amor’s Maria Wild.

And despite grafting hard to get back in her good books after his sensational triple head turn, Michael Griffiths pied off Joanna Chimonides as he was papped drunkenly trying to kiss Nabila Badda.
