Melanie Brown has opened up in a heartbreaking Instagram post following her divorce from Stephen Belafonte and her dad's death
Mel B has been through at lot this year; she lost her dad aged 63 after a five year battle with cancer and then filed for divorce from her husband Stephen Belafonte after 10 years marriage.
Since then there's been speculation that she moved on and is dating a police officerand just nine months after she first filed for divorce it was finalised.
The 42-year-old singer and her ex-husband will share joint custody of their six-year-old daughter Madison. It has also been reported that their divorce allegedly saw Stephen "walk away with over £8 million".

The couple share 5-year-old daughter, Madison, but in the leaked papers Mel cites irreconcilable differences as grounds for divorce.Since then, it has come to light that Mel made many allegations against the film producer, including that he was reportedly physically and verbally abusive throughout their marriage.

Steph and Jeremy had an on-off relationship for the best part of 2016 after meeting in the Celebrity Big Brother house.When Steph announced she was pregnant, Jeremy refused to believe he was the father and throughout the pregnancy she was determined to raise her baby on her own.However, when Caben-Albi was born Jeremy stepped up and appeared to be trying to make up for lost time. The couple reunited, but shortly afterwards reports swirled that Jeremy had been arrested on suspicion of assault.Before the news broke, Steph had shared a picture of her bruised body on Snapchat, prompting fans to believe she may have been the victim. Cara Kilby only had a brief stint on TOWIE, but she was a firm favourite with viewers.Her boyfriend, Daniel, was sentenced to two years in prison after being accussed of leading a gang that sold drugs across London. He is due for release in the next few weeks.
Now, the mum of three has emotionally opened up on Instagram by sharing a quote which says, 'After my father's death, nothing could touch me anymore'.
She explained to her one million followers: "People often say to me, 'oh Mel B your so strong' and I have to think to myself, yes I am strong, but listen I’m only strong because I’ve been incredibly weak and during that weak time I taught myself how to access my inner strength [sic]."
The Spice Girls star went on to reveal that she's battled situations that people are unaware of, "I've been close to death literally and paralysed with fear which in due course over time has made me fearless."
Mel B then opened up to her followers and explained: "I use to think I was the strangest person in the world, then I thought, come on now there are so many people in the world, there must be some people out there just like me who think like me and aren’t afraid to feel they feel bizarre and flawed in exactly the same way I do and embrace it [sic].
"I would imagine and still do there are many people out there thinking just like me and are exactly like me too. So I hope and pray if your out there and you need this message, yes it’s true, I’m here and we all find each other at the end of the day, credence and faith."
"That’s just the ways of the world and the law of attraction. Yes I am different and always will be. I’m not black and I’m not white and I’m not pink and I’m not green. In the words of Earth Kitt 'I have no colour' boom, and that is how barriers are broken."
She added: "So be careful who you invite into your soul surround yourself with people that are only going to take you higher whether that be spiritually or physically."
Lots of her fans have rushed to praise the star for speaking out, with one person writing: "Inspiring & encouraging. In the end we only have ourselves to rely on. Find your own strength & you’ll never need anyone 💛✨"
