Spice Girls member Mel B and her husband Stephen have split after 10 years
It has been reported that Mel B – Melanie Brown - has filed for report from her husband Stephen Belafonte.
The former Spice Girls member and her husband have been married for almost 10 years but according to People magazine the singer has asked for a divorce for 'irreconcilable differences'.
The publication reports that the date of separation was on December 28 and Mel B has asked for joint legal and physical custody of their five-year-old daughter Madison Brown Belfonte and to terminate any spousal support.
The couple's split comes as a shock especially after the British singer recently posted a photo of herself and her husband in happier days, she wrote: "My baby boo @stephenthinks11 we have been through everything that would normally tear couples apart and we have come out on the other side stronger.
"You loved me before I even knew how to really love myself, you are my world honey and let's not forget you are a bit of a dickhead too xxxx

Stephen also posted a photo of his wife with the caption: "When you get a facetime call from the super sexy and talented star @officialmelb from the longest running Broadway show @chicagomusical and you realize how lucky of a hubby I am!! Don't get it twisted people I'm no chop liver either!! #LuckyHubby #TubeSteakForDinner #SexyWife"
However, last week the mum-of-three posted a quote on Instagram which read: "You have to be at your strongest when you're feeling at your weakest."
Their shocking separation come shortly after Mel B's father passed away. Announcing the tragic news on Instagram, she wrote: "It is with great sadness after a 5yr battle to multiple myeloma cancer our loving father Martin Brown passed away age 63 peacefully yesterday.
"Both of us his children were by his side and would like to say thank you to St Gemma's and all the doctors and nurses for their amazing care and support over the years.
"Please respect our privacy and let us as a united family grieve. With love and respect. Melanie and Danielle Brown x. Be Free Dad."
The couple started dating in 2007 and quickly got married five months later. Melanie has two other children with former partners; Phoenix Gulzar, 18 (from her marriage with Jimmy Gulzar) and Angel Iris Murphy Brown, nine (who she had with Eddie Murphy). Stephen is also a father to Giselle Belafonte, 12 (from his previous relationship with Nicole Contreras).
