Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson, 27 – who’s expecting her first child this month – says trolls have targeted her while she’s pregnant
She says, “I can really sympathise with Jesy [Nelson - who opened up in a moving TV documentary about trying to take her own life after being the victim of online bullying] – it was so brave of her to speak about what she went through.
"I’ve had the most horrendous things said to me over the years.I’ve been called fat, ugly and a slag over and over again.
"People have said, ‘I hope you die,’ and ‘I hope your family get cancer.’ I’ve also been threatened – people have said, ‘I’m going to come to your house, I’m going to hunt you down.’ Some of the things are so grotesque that I couldn’t even comprehend them."
She continued, “It’s happened while I’ve been pregnant, too. I’ve been told I look terrible and that I’ll be a terrible mum to my son. People have said, ‘I feel sorry for your son having a mum like you.’

“They haven’t directly insulted my unborn son, but they’ve just said they feel sorry for him because he’s related to me.
“I’m terrified to think my son could get trolled when he grows up. I don’t care when it’s me – I’m used to it now – but the thought of him getting trolled is devastating.

“I think there needs to be new laws on social media use and the trolls have to be made accountable for what they’re doing, before more people harm themselves."
Marnie announced her first pregnancy with boyfriend Casey Johnson back in April after fearing her heavy drinking during her Geordie Shore heyday had left her infertile.
Her's will be one of just a handful of GS babies, with Gaz Beadle expecting his second child with girlfriend Emma McVey and short term cast members Chantelle Connelly and Rebecca Walker also mums.
