TOWIE Legende Mario Falcone has shared his thoughts on the new line-up after ten cast members were axed

Earlier this year it was announced that TOWIE bosses were letting go of ten long running cast members in the biggest shake up in the show’s history.

Names like Chloe Lewis, Joran Wright, Chris Clark and Amber Turner, with a line-up of younger faces being brought in to replace them.

But Mario struggled to keep his opinion to himself when some of the new faces made their debut on Sunday.

Taking to his Twitter account he wrote, “Just seen the new 17-year-old Towie cast members. Jesus. RIP Towie” – followed by a broken heart emoji.

And he wasn’t exaggerating either, with fashion school drop-out Joey Turner just 17 years old and most of the rest of the new faces under 20.

Maria, on the left with Joey Essex and Chloe Sims in 2011, was in the show from the get-go but her TV career was rocked when it was alleged she'd worked as an escort. She's since said she quit 'by mutual consent' after she refused an on-screen romance with Mick Norcross.

18-year-old hairdressers Ella Wise and Chloe Brockett will join the cast, as will Chloe Sims’ younger sister Demi, who first appeared in the final episode of series 23.

“And I am not hating on the show,” he continued in a separate tweet. “I love Towie and it put me where I am, however hard it was at times I will always be thankful. I like many viewers and just disappointed and feel the producers have lost touch with the viewer .”

Many seemed to agree with Mario’s sentiment, taking to the comments to share their own thoughts.

“We’ve grown with the cast,” said one commenter. “I don’t want to be watching 17 year old drama then they need to do a towie early 20s or something as I’ve come a million miles since I was 20.”

Another agreed, “It’s been rubbish for years. the “cast” just use it for self promotion and a source to finance cosmetic surgery! Boring."
