In the divorce that has rocked nation (since the demise of Brangelina) Louise and Jamie Redknapp announced shock split two months ago and have kept pretty shtum since.
However, Louise has now broken her silence on the former couple's 20 year marriage and compared her role to a 'Stepford wife'.
The 42-year-old told Stella magazine how she wants to put her career first, "I didn’t want to continue running around after everyone else, and occasionally promoting a yogurt or doing a little TV presenting job. I wanted to sing, I wanted to perform. I wanted to go back to work on a stage in front of an audience.'
Louise then spoke about ex-husband Jamie, "It’s so hard because I love him. He’s an amazing man and we’ve had 20 good years together."
"I know he’s trying to understand that I do need to do this. People might look at me and think I’ve got everything, but a sweeping staircase and designer handbag doesn’t really do it for me."
She continued: "I have no idea what is going to happen, all I know is that I fought for this, it’s taken everything, but this is something I need to do – for me."
The pair have two sons together, Charley, 13, and Beau, nine, and there were rumoured plans they wanted to try for baby number 3 after Louise's stint on Strictly.
Louise had recently appeared on This Morning where she discussed the revival of her performing career after coming third on Strictly Come Dancing last year.
"For me, going back to work has been something that has been a real saviour. Doing Strictly does something. For me it was all about performing. And to go back on stage every night and to get the opportunity again. It's great.
"I'd been at home for 12 years doing the mum thing."
Louise Redknapp has a new lease of life and we are so happy for her.
