Strictly Come Dancing 2022 may be a LONG way off, but it seems there has already been a rumoured cast member. Yep, you heard us right, it seems a certain soap star may be joining the show.
It was recently reported that Adam was going to agree on a deal with the BBC to appear on Strictly later this year.
A source said, “Adam has got what it takes to win and is already practising his moves. And he’s got a big female fanbase.
“This has been a little while in the making but it’s happening this year," they told The Sun.
There's possibly sad news for dance fans though, as, taking to Instagram Adam said, "As much as I'd love this to be true unfortunately it's not."
Adam is no doubt very busy this year with the return of Waterloo Road on the horizon. Looks like we'll just have to be patient and wait for the official line-up to be released.
Previous years have seen soap stars to athletes, musicians to politicians and everything in between take to the dance floor in the hope of raising the famous glitterball trophy, with bosses in 2020 finally lifting their 'no reality stars' rule when Jamie Laing made it to the final with his professional dance partner Karen Clifton.
Before Strictly 2022 begins, let's look back on last year's series...
Who were the judges on Strictly 2021?
Over the past few years the judging panel saw a serious shake up with head judge Lenn Goodman being replaced by Shirley Ballas in 2017 and Motse Mabuse (sister of professional dancer Oti) replacing ballet icon Dame Darcey Bussell for the 2019 show.
Last year also faced it's own judging panel controversy after long running judge Bruno Tonioli was forced to pull out due to the pandemic.
Despite a lot of rumours surrounding Bruno's replacement, including Cheryl apparently joining the panel, no one actually took over.
However for Strictly 2021 former professional dancer Anton Du Beke took over from Bruno Tonlioni as a permanent judge on the panel, after Covid restrictions meant that Bruno couldn't be in the UK for a second year in a row.
Anton's wasn't a complete novice, though. He's regularly filled in for missing judges in past series. Speaking about stepping away from his role as a professional dancer, which he's been doing since the very first series, he said, "Traditionally the judges don’t get involved in the group numbers unless it's sort of like a Halloween theme or something like that.
"I would be hugely disappointed if I wasn’t able to do something. Maybe if somebody comes in and does a turn or song or something, I could grab one of the girls and we can have a bit of a dance.
"I'd love that, this is the thing I’m going to miss the most, and I know all the pros are getting into the studio now… and I’m already feeling a little bit… bereft of that."

What is the Strictly Curse?
Where have you been?
The Strictly Curse - ie, the not-uncommon phenomenon of otherwise stable couples crumbling when one party signs up to Strictly and gets on a little TOO well with their partner - has caused the downfall of LOADS of couples, most recently Stacey Dooley and her long term boyfriend Sam Tucknott, and comedian Seann Walsh and his girlfriend Rebecca Humphries in 2018.
Both Stacey and Seann hooked up with their professional partners during the show, with Katya's husband Neil, also a professional dancer on the show, later divorcing her.
Following the disastrous year, former pro Brendan Cole - who had his own affair with his celeb partner Natasha Kaplinsky in 2004 – said, "It’s intense.
"Think about it. If you go to work with somebody every single day – hands on – and you’re working towards the same goal and you’ve got chemistry and this incredible experience that everyone loves to talk about, it’s only natural it’s going to happen occasionally.
“I’ve probably said more than enough.”
Who won Strictly 2021?
In 2021 Rose Ayling-Ellis and dance partner Giovanni Pernice were crowned winners of the show. Rose became the first deaf contestant to win the show.
