Saira Khan has been bombarded with hate comments after hitting out at a conservative Muslim preacher.

Saira, 47, best known for being a panellist on Loose Women, uploaded a photo of herself in a bikini on holiday in Croatia to her Instagram profile.

She captioned the photo: "I woke up to news that A Muslim Preacher is saying that 'plucking eyebrows' for Muslim women is a sin - here's my response - kiss my 🍑 you backward prehistoric dinosaur!"

She posted the photo in response to a female Muslim preacher who said in a YouTube sermon that it was sinful for Muslim women to pluck their eyebrows.

Many fans rushed to the comments section on Saira's photo to praise her for speaking her mind.

One wrote: "Every Muslim woman does their eyebrows man, you have been sinning all your lives practically, there are worse things going on in our world."

Another agreed: "Well said Saira, I love how you speak up for what you believe in on something like you say is so prehistoric."

Another person wrote: "99.9% of things women do is seen as a sin to these preachers! Keep doing you Saira, you've really given me the confidence I need to be myself in a culture which doesn't much favour independent and strong women."

But sadly, one person had a very shocking reaction to Saira's post, and wrote a threatening comment on her post.

It read: "Keep your f****** mouth shut! Your not a Muslim nor do you represent anything to do with Islam!!! Your white masters have given ou what you desire as a sell out reporter!!! If you value your life keep the f*** out of Islam [sic]."

However, Saira wasn't too perturbed by the horrid comment, and immediately reported it to the police on her Twitter account.

The Met Police Contact Centre responded with: "Hi Saira, pls DM us so we can take some further details. Thanks."

Saira's fans immediately replied to her tweet with supportive messages.

One read: "Disgusting. I hope this is followed through Saira. Don't let it get to you."

Another added: "Words fail me...you shouldn't have to receive and deal with this stuff...awful."
