She feared starting the menopause following a full hysterectomy in 2016 and believed it would ruin her career but instead, much to her surprise, it gave Andrea McLean a whole new lease of life.
Speaking out about her decision to be open about the menopause, Andrea, 49, previously said: "At the time it was actually quite a daring thing to do. If you spoke out about going through the menopause, you were instantly seen as old.
"Working in the media as I do, being seen as old is really not a great career move. So it was quite a big deal to hold my hands up and say, 'This is what’s happening to me, this is what I’m going through.' I was still in my 40s, so I wasn’t looking back at it retrospectively. It was something that I was going through at the time."

But never one to accept things as they are, the Loose Women star viewed herself and her body in an entirely new light.
She said, "You are not invisible any more, you are still a strong and capable woman who’s able to do different things and you come from all different walks of life…
"It’s a very slow realisation, because you’re so used to seeing young, gorgeous women – and there’s nothing wrong with being young and gorgeous, it’s a wonderful thing – but that’s just one part of your life.
"You can still be middle-aged and gorgeous and older and gorgeous, just in unique and different ways. This highlights it. There’s not one definition of beauty or being a woman. Going through the menopause is just that; it’s part of our definition of being a female."
And after a roller-coaster romantic life, with two failed marriages, she showed her vulnerability and emotional scars from her second marriage while filming Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins earlier this year.

She quit the show early after being shouted at by officers brought back old memories she’d buried. But it’s very much a case of third time lucky for Andrea, as she feels she’s hit the jackpot with her husband Nick Feeney, whom she wed in November 2017.
She said, "We started seeing each other at our absolute lowest and we both got better. Now it’s great.
"He’s just a really kind man. Sometimes you realise that someone who is funny and kind is all you need."
