The true toxicity of Lauryn Goodman’s ongoing feud with Kyle Walker came to light last week in an epic courtroom showdown that ultimately saw the football ace painted as the “good guy” and coming out on top – leaving Lauryn to be humiliated as his team blasted her for using him as an “open cheque book”.
To make matters worse, Celebs Go Dating star Lauryn – who shares son Kairo, four, and one-year-old daughter Kinara with Kyle – was labelled “unreliable” by the judge, who described her expensive “wish list” of needs for her children as evidence of her “need to spend money”.
But now a source close to Lauryn, 33, says the verdict has left her furious – and more determined than ever to get what she wants.
The insider says, “Lauryn is devastated at the way she has been portrayed as a money grabber. It’s left her feeling embarrassed, ashamed – but more than anything, angry.
“The whole thing has been spun out of all proportion by the lawyers and set out in a way that has tried to paint her – in her eyes – as someone she isn’t.
“But she has no plans to back down. If anything, this has only made her tougher, and she’s vowed to not let Kyle get away with this. She’s determined to get her revenge and make sure she gets everything she and her children deserve to ensure they can have a good life.”
Lauryn had son Kairo with England vice captain Kyle, 34, in 2020, after a brief fling during the summer of 2019 when Kyle had briefly split from his now wife and the mother of his four children, Annie Kilner.
While Kyle and childhood sweetheart Annie worked through the scandal, tying the knot in 2022, it then emerged that Lauryn’s second child, daughter Kinara, was also Kyle’s – prompting Annie to kick Kyle out of their £3.5m Cheshire mansion.
And, in court last week, it was revealed how Kyle had been desperate for Annie not to find out he had fathered a second child with Lauryn during her pregnancy, and had secretly been attempting to keep Lauryn quiet by bending to her expensive demands – purchasing her a £2.4 million Sussex home and spending thousands on household items, nannies and cars.
Social media users were dumbfounded at the eye-wateringly extensive “shopping list” that was revealed, with one writing, “These demands are ridiculous!! You can’t call all that just ‘childcare’!!!”
But now the source says “humiliated” Lauryn is insistent that her motive has always been getting the best for her children, who she wants to grow up with the same privileges as Kyle’s other four children with Annie.
They add, “Her priority is – and always will be – her kids, and that’s the only thing it boils down to. She is mortified that trolls are accusing her of using her children to try to get money from Kyle. Nothing could be further from the truth – she just wants them to have the best childhood.”
Last week, Closer revealed how an unlikely friendship had been formed between Lauryn and fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy – who was embroiled in the infamous Wagatha Christie court drama with Coleen Rooney.
And now the insider says Lauryn has been seeking advice from Becky throughout the media storm and court case, in her fight for justice.
They add, “Rebekah Vardy has become a rock. She and Lauryn share the same management and Lauryn’s been turning to Becky a lot throughout the court case for advice on how to handle the media storm and trolls.
“But it’s still her fight to deal with – and she will. She’s not going to just disappear into oblivion. She’s working out how to make her comeback – she’s considering a TV interview, like Becky did after her libel case. She just wants to make her voice heard and wants justice for what she’s been through.”
