The Wagatha Christie saga is set to get spicy again with the release of Coleen Rooney’s upcoming book, My Account, next month.

And insiders say Coleen, 37, is looking forward to having the final say and reveal that the book will be full of new bombshell revelations.

A source says, “Coleen’s done interviews, British Vogue, and her documentary, but she is going to really spell it all out in this book once and for all. She can’t see how Becky can come back from it – Coleen wants it to be her final word on the matter and has described it as being her mic drop on Becky and the whole sorry saga.”

But pals are worried that the book could open up old wounds and bring unnecessary stress.

An insider tells Closer, “Her friends are concerned she’s stirring the pot and it could all blow up in her face. They say that Wayne isn’t exactly thrilled about it as he’s been keen to move on from it all ever since the court case wrapped up last year, but Coleen won’t listen.”

The drama – dubbed Wagatha Christie by fans – kicked off after Coleen accused fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy, 41, of leaking stories to a tabloid newspaper in October 2019. Rebekah then sued her for libel but lost and was ordered to pay Coleen’s legal fees, thought to be around £1.5 million.

Since the trial ended, Coleen has gone from strength to strength. The star – who shares sons Kai, 13, Klay, 10, Kit, seven, and Cass, five, with former England footballer Wayne, 37 – recently graced the cover of Vogue and has filmed a three-part Disney+ documentary, out on 18 October.

Rebekah has also told her side of the story, sitting down last summer with Talk TV for her first interview since the trial ended. Opening up about the drama, a tearful Becky revealed “it was so traumatic”. Eagle-eyed fans also noticed several digs posted on social media – with one comment urging Coleen to donate the money she was awarded by the court to charity, writing, “Put your money where your mouth is”.

But insiders say Coleen is now hoping that her new book – out on 9 November – will finally put the drama to bed.

The insider says, “Coleen has worked really hard on this book – she’s been pushing to get the truth through the lawyers so it can all go into her written words. There are some things that won’t make it past them and will have to be left out in the edit, but Coleen feels like she’s got enough evidence from her own original sleuthing to make a riveting read and close this painful chapter of her life once and for all.”

Coleen – who had Wayne by her side throughout the trial – has previously opened up about the stress of heading to court, sharing, “It was so difficult in that courtroom, especially watching [Becky] on the stand. It was quite painful.”

The star also revealed how the trial took its toll on her marriage, saying, “There were moments where we did have disagreements. Not over the case, [but] because I was short-tempered.” But the source says Coleen has been trying to persuade Wayne that she has no choice but to put everything out there.

They say, “She’s told Wayne that the book is going to be the absolute last anyone will ever hear about it from her, and then everyone can heal and move on.”

The source adds that Coleen’s pals are also worried that rehashing everything in the book risks riling some fans.

The insider says, “While a lot of people have been entertained by it, it could be a turn-off for those who are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and feel there are more important things to be doing than going over this years-old feud. A lot of the British public just see this as a petty row between two women who could have argued about it and then moved on – but instead it blew up into a global news story and a court case that cost millions.

“But Coleen is adamant that she should release this book so her full story is out there, and then she can fully heal. Whether she likes it or not, ‘Wagatha Christie’ is going to be part of her legacy now and she doesn’t want to live with any regrets or leave anything unsaid.”
