Kerry Katona has been handed divorce papers by her estranged husband George Kay.

Kerry and George, who were married for a tumultuous six years, split over the summer after being on the rocks for a number of months.

The couple, who married in 2014, share three-year-old daughter Dylan-Jorge and have both dated other people since their split in June.

And despite it seeming as though Kerry was the one to end the relationship, The Sun reports that it is now George who is serving Kerry the divorce papers.

His representative told The Sun Online: "George Kay has served a divorce petition upon Kerry Katona to end their six year relationship.

"His absolute priority is the well-being of their three-year-old daughter Dylan-Jorge and his step-children Heidi and Max. Happily, all the children are spending time with George during this difficult period.

"George is conscious of Kerry’s media profile and understands that there may be wider interest in this latest sad development.

"He is also aware that much of the couple’s marriage and its subsequent breakdown has been carried out in the public sphere – but wishes to draw a line under that today, particularly in the interests of all the children, who are completely innocent parties in this unfortunate situation.

"He sincerely hopes that this difficult process will be concluded solely through legal channels and in as dignified a manner as possible."

This comes after Kerry's split from her boyfriend James English after two months of dating.

Kerry, who split from James two weeks ago, announced the news in an Instagram word image which read: "I'm in a relationship with me.

"I make me happy and will never leave me. Single is good when you like yourself and don't count on anyone else for your happiness!"

The Scottish businessman appeared to mock Kerry on a chat show, describing her as "f---ed up", admitting that he was "only using her to get somewhere."

He also said: "It's a good thing we've got - a bit of casual sex. That's all it is.

"For her it was an instant attraction probably but for me it took a while. I'm only kidding. She's a beautiful looking woman.

"She's more famous than me. I'm living on the back of her. I'm just using her just now to get somewhere.

"I think she's in her 40s, she's 37 actually and she has got herself a toy boy - can you blame her?"

Sounds like you got out of that one at the right time, Kerry...

1. Adele (£132m)

It probably comes as no surprise that Adele is sitting comfortably on top of Heat's 2017 under 30s rich list. With 15 Grammy's under her belt, the 29-year-old mum-of-one is quite deservedly rolling in the cash.

Daniel Radcliffe worth2 of 10

2. Daniel Radcliffe (£78m)

Who'd have thought back in 2001 that little Harry Potter would one day appear naked on Broadway (in the play Equus - not just as a streaker!) and be worth a stonking £78m? Not us, that's for sure! Good on ya, lad!

Ed Sheeran worth3 of 10

3. Ed Sheeran (£52m)

He may be just a normal bloke who enjoys nothing more than a pint (or eight), but Ed Sheeran's bank account is pretty extraordinary. And with his song-writing prowess (Shape of You reached number 1 in 44 countries!), we predict his bank balance to keep growing.

Harry Styles worth4 of 10

4. Harry Styles (£50m)

The youngest celeb on the list, Harry Styles is officially the richest member of One Direction. Worth an impressive £50m, mini Mick Jagger (as he shall henceforth be known), seems to be smashing life as a solo star.

Has someone just told Louis Tomlinson what he's worth? Is that why he's so shocked? Probably...

6. Niall Horan (£40m)

Surely the sweetest member of One Direction (just look at his little face!), Niall Horan has been carving out a respectable name for himself as a solo artist, and recently topped the US album charts with his debut solo album, Flicker.

Zayn Malik worth9 of 10

9. Zayn Malik (£37m)

We think we finally know why Zayn Malik - owner of the world's finest cheek bones - always looks so glum; because he's the least wealthy member of One Direction. Coming in £3m behind Louis, Liam and Niall, and a painful £13m less than Harry, would put a scowl on our faces too tbf.

Little Mix worth10 of 10

10. Little Mix (£28m, £7m each)

Can we hear it for the girls? Yes, lovely Little Mix take 10th place in the richest Brit stars under 30. Although it should be noted that they're worth £28m as a group (not that we'd be complaining with £7m each!).
