Katie Piper before

There's no denying that the horrific acid attack changed Katie Piper's life forever, but even before this took place, Katie was always destined to be a household name.

Prior to 2008 Katie was already working as a model and presenter, and had even left her family home in Hampshire to move to London to pursue fame and fortune.

How long did Katie Piper's attacker get?

One of the most shocking facts about Katie's brutal attack is that it was committed by her then boyfriend.

Katie met Daniel Lynch via Facebook - and things turned violent pretty quickly. Just two weeks after they began their relationship, Lynch raped, beat and threatened to kill Katie in a hotel room in London. Then, just two days later, the acid attack took place.

Lynch received two life sentences for the attack, and will serve a minimum of 16 years in prison.

Meanwhile his accomplice, Stefan Sylvestre - who actually threw the sulphuric acid in Katie's face - will serve a minimum of six years.

In 2018, it came to light that Stefan would be released and Katie released an emotional statement on Instagram following the news.

Talking about creating the Katie Piper My Babiie range, KP told Reveal: "I actually designed the buggies with my clothes in mind! Each one is inspired by colours and shades I really like wearing because I think it's really important not to loose yourself when you become a parent. I didn't want a buggy with Fireman Sam on because I don't wear dresses with Fireman Sam on [laughs] but because I'd been a mum and tried and tested it all on myself and Belle I didn't compromise on the safety aspect."
