Katie Hopkins has been axed from LBC radio show after posting offensive tweets about the Manchester terror attack

Controversial TV personality Katie Hopkins rarely has a week where she is not in the news.

Sadly, it is quite often the case that she is saying something controversial that has upset people.

Only last month, she made comments about stay-at-home mums that deeply upset many listeners of her LBC radio show.

She's also been very outspoken about Kate and Gerry McCann, and has also been locked in a legal battle with blogger Jack Monroe.

But after making controversial comments regarding Monday's horrific terror attack in Manchester, Katie has now been axed from her radio show on LBC.

LBC, which is owned by Global who also run Capital FM, Heart and Classic FM amongst others, today announced the company's decision to let Katie go.

They tweeted the announcement, which read: "LBC and Katie Hopkins have agreed that Katie will leave LBC effective immediately."

The tweet in question was swiftly deleted by Katie, although a screenshot is being shared around the micro-blogging site, and it read: "22 dead - number rising. Schofield. Don't you even dare. Do not be part of the problem. We need a final solution."

Whilst it doesn't exactly make sense, we do know that Katie and Phillip Schofield have never quite seen eye to eye.

But it was the last sentence that concerned the public the most, with some likening her reference of a "final solution" to how the Nazis referred to the Jewish population during World War II, eventually massacring millions of innocents in the Holocaust.

In a second deleted tweet, she wrote: "And Ramadan has not yet begun. Without food these sods get nasty."

So many people were outraged that they reported her to the police. Katie herself then tweeted a screenshot where the Metropolitan Police Twitter account had responded to someone, saying that the complaint would be assessed.

Katie didn't seem too perturbed about her sacking, posting a photo of lemons and referencing the "When life gives you lemons..." phrase, meaning to take not take it too seriously.

Twitters users in their droves took to the site to express their happiness at her sacking.

Many of Katie's fans also took to Twitter to slam the sacking, saying that it violated Katie's freedom of speech.

What do you think? Do you think LBC were right to sack Katie? Or do you think it's a violation of her freedom of speech? Let us know over on Facebook and Twitter.
