TOWIE’s James ‘Lockie’ Lock has apologised over his recent ‘work trip’ to Dubai after claiming Home Secretary Priti Patel had “incited hatred” against travelling influencers.
James and his now ex-girlfriend, fellow TOWIE star Yazmin Oukhellou, had jetted off for a luxury break in the UAE amid the strictest lockdown restrictions last year. However they have since broken up and James has now “held his hands up” and admitted to being “insensitive”.
“I should have been more considerate to the people back home who are struggling,” he said.
“I know people are finding it hard, including my own family and people that I love. But I honestly haven’t meant to upset anyone and I’m not a bad person. I’ve tried to be as respectful as I can.”

Jake Hall, series 14 -17
Jake's time on TOWIE was mainly characterised by his on / off relationship with Chloe Lewis and his alleged cheating on her. He finally (sort of) confessed that he'd done the dirty with Megan McKenna in a very emosh scene on a park bench. Ah, precious memories.

Speaking to The Sun, he added, “Some influencers were out here partying but I’ve not been here on holiday, I’ve been out here working hard and that’s why I stayed.”
Last week, James hit out at the Home Secretary who blasted influencers “showing off about which parts of the world that they are in, mainly in sunny parts of the world.”
A furious James told the same publication, “We have had death threats. People have said, ‘I hope you get Covid and die’. They’ve said, 'I hope your family gets Covid and dies'.
“The hate has increased one hundred per cent after what Priti Patel said in the House of Commons. I think it is disgusting she has tried to use influencers as a scapegoat. It is embarrassing the government are trying to pass the blame.”
Meanwhile, following eyewitness reports of a major row, Lockie and Yaz confirmed their split, with Yazmin reportedly “desperate to leave” Dubai and return to the UK.
