Since joining This Morning in 2009, Holly Willoughby has become one of the UK’s biggest household names – with fans wanting to know every detail about her life, both in front of and behind the cameras.

And while the mum-of-three has lifted the lid about many aspects of her personal life – including her recent journey to self-discovery after feeling “lost” as well racy confessions about her sex life with her husband, Dan Baldwin, 47 – she is known for being notoriously private.

After wowing fans with her weight-loss following the birth of her youngest son, Chester, in 2014, the star refused to detail how she achieved her new figure – insisting it was a “personal journey”.

But since opening up another window into her life after launching her wellness platform, Wylde Moon, last year, fans have enjoyed learning more about the TV presenter’s wellbeing rituals and lifestyle hacks.

And while Holly continues to command interest, Closer takes a look at some less-well-known facts about the much-loved star…

Not talking to exes

She recently confessed she doesn’t speak to any of her exes during an interview with her This Morning co-host, Alison Hammond, on Holly’s Wylde Moon podcast. “I don’t think I’ve spoken to a single one of my exes, ever,” she revealed, before joking, “I needed to leave more of a lasting impression – clearly I didn’t!”

And while Holly has been with TV producer Dan Baldwin for 17 years, little is known of her past dating history, which unlike many of her fellow celeb pals, she’s managed to keep under the radar. While she’s remained largely tight-lipped about her exes, in 2012 the former model revealed that she once dated a cowboy. “I’d met him on a plane when he was wearing normal clothes and looked gorgeous,” she confessed. “When we met later at a restaurant he was wearing all the gear. I thought about turning round and doing a runner, but I have good manners. I couldn’t go out with a cowboy because I don’t own any cowgirl outfits. At least he didn’t have the horse tied up outside.”

The Brighton-born star reportedly dated GP Matt Goodman, who’s now married to Countryfile presenter, Ellie Harrison. The pair were said to be together “for quite a while” before Holly moved to London for her first presenting gig in the early noughties.

The Dancing On Ice host has also been linked to pal and co-presenter, Stephen Mulhern, 44 in the past – the pair sparked rumours when they locked lips co-hosting a festive special of Saturday Showdown in 2004. While their flirtatious display under the mistletoe set tongues wagging, the pair stayed tight-lipped on any romance – with Holly meeting her future husband a year later.

‘Secret’ au-pair career

Last week, Holly surprised fans when confessing that she once worked as an au pair in Switzerland. Revealing her “secret” former career working as a live-in nanny during a recent episode of BBC one’s Saturday Kitchen, Holly confessed, “I love Swiss food. I love a cheese fondue. I was an au pair in Switzerland for a season and when I was there, I just ate cheese.”

She’s also been a cleaner and a receptionist, saying, “After doing kids’ television on CBBC [in her late teens], there was a period of three years in the middle of that when I wasn’t doing anything. I was working as a receptionist and in a pub. I was a cleaner and all sorts of things. All life has its ups and downs.”

The tables have since turned for the working mum, who has a nanny to help take care of her and Dan’s three children, Harry, 12, Belle, 10, and seven-year-old Chester.

The “mumtrepenuer” has been candidly honest about her struggle with guilt as she juggles parenthood with a successful career in the spotlight – insisting there’s no shame in having childcare which helps her “feel so much better”.

Going to Opera as therapy

Launching her The Wild perfume last week, the presenter teamed up with ex-Oasis musician Andy Bell to create an aria to go alongside it. She said, “I fell in love with the opera on my first visit 13 years ago. I become immersed into a world that takes over all senses. Going to the English National Opera is the perfect place to reconnect. I’m mesmerised by the controlled freedom that opera has – powerful voices that helped me to reconnect with my inner voice and not be afraid to express it.”

Holly has revealed how she changed her way of thinking after meeting a kinesiologist – a professional who studies the biomechanical processes of the body and human movement – upon landing the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! presenting gig in 2018 alongside pal Declan Donnelly.

She’s morphed into one of the UK’s biggest style icons – regularly flashing her long legs in an array of skirts and dresses both on and off screen.

But the 5ft 7 star once revealed how she had to have her legs stretched as a child after being born with short tendons.

Making the admission back in 2016, the wellness guru confessed, “I had both legs put in plaster for six weeks to try and stretch it out. I had a lot of physio.

“I had a little thing put in my shoe, like a little in-step, to stop the arches – my step wasn’t right. Rest assured, for me, having gone through that and the physio, I am absolutely fine now.”

Holly also admitted to wearing a head-brace as a teenager and again in 2011 to perfect her famous smile.
