It’s been three months since leaked voice notes appeared to show Ferne McCann allegedly bashing her former BFF Sam Faiers, calling her a “narcissistic bitch” and body-shaming her.
Now, insiders have revealed Ferne – who claims the voice notes were “manipulated” – is keen to have a private meeting with Sam, 31, to talk through everything and ask for forgiveness.
The source tells Closer, “Ferne has been desperate for a meeting with Sam and has been bombarding her with messages – as well as speaking to Billie [Sam’s sister]. She and Sam almost came face to face at the Pride of Britain Awards recently, and Ferne thinks it’s only a matter of time before they rub shoulders again. She doesn’t want to cause a scene, so has instead been angling for them to have a private chat in secret where Ferne can go over everything that was said and try to straighten things out.”
The series of damning voice notes released in the last few months – which also included one which seemed to feature her calling ex Arthur Collins’ acid attack victim Sophie Hall a “silly b**ch” – have resulted in mass backlash against Ferne, 32.
After initially staying silent, she released a statement last month saying she has been the victim of a “harassment” campaign designed to “intimidate” and “discredit” her. She also offered her “deepest sympathies for the stress and hurt caused to Sophie" – but has not commented on the Sam voice notes.
And sources add that Sam is not interested in a reunion with her former best friend.
The pal adds, “Right now, Sam just doesn’t want to know. She is less than impressed and isn’t in a hurry to make this meeting happen or hear what Ferne has got to say. She feels as though this is her mess to clear up and Sam doesn’t want to be any more involved than she already is. It’s going to take a lot more time for Sam to find it in her heart to forgive her – and she wants Ferne to sweat it out more.”
