Arthur Collins has pleaded not guilty to the acid attack that he allegedly committed in a Hackney nightclub in April

Ferne McCann's ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins - who is also the father of her unborn baby - has today denied throwing acid into a crowded nightclub in Hackney, London.

The incident, which took place over the bank holiday weekend in April, left two people partially blind and many others with lasting physical injuries.

Collins, 25, has denied being behind the attack alongside 21-year-old Andre Phoenix, who has also pleaded not guilty.

He appeared at Wood Green Crown Court via video link from HMP Thameside, where he has been kept since he was arrested after going on the run following the attack.

He was missing for a week, until he was found in an armed raid by police at a property in Northamptonshire.

Collins previously appeared in court to be charged with 14 counts of GBH, showing up in a hoodie and on crutches.

Following the attack, Ferne deleted all traces of Arthur from her social media accounts, instead releasing a statement through her spokesperson: "Obviously these are highly shocking and Ferne has co-operated with the police in their enquiries.

"She was not with Arthur on Sunday night, was not at Mangle and has no direct knowledge of the events that unfolded.

"As much as anybody she wants to know the truth and urges Arthur to co-operate fully with the police and attend a police station immediately."

Ferne, who has been in touch with Arthur since his arrest, did an interview with OK! Magazine last week, proudly showing off her baby bump for the first time.

The 26-year-old, who is due to give birth in November, told the mag: "I'm trying to keep positive, because I am excited that I'm going to have a baby.

"There are times I feel emotional. Not in a negative way, like I'm feeling really sad. But my hormones are all over the place. But I never feel lonely as I have my baby."

N'aww. You stay positive, Ferne!
