Emmerdale actress Samantha Giles had a very unique way of finding her cat when he got lost

A pet getting lost is a devastating time for a family.

In these troubling times, it can be quite cathartic for a family to go around their local area sticking up posters of their lost little ones in the hope that someone might find them and bring them back to you.

Well, at least that's what most families NORMALLY do when a pet goes missing.

But Emmerdale actress Samantha Giles had a very alternative way of bringing her cat home when he went missing...

Samantha, who plays Bernice Thomas in the ITV soap, revealed that she helped her cat Bob, who has epilepsy, find his way home by leaving a trail for him to follow back to their house.

Seems like a good idea, right?

Yes, maybe. Until you hear that Samantha used her own URINE as the trail.

She literally left her scent around for her cat to follow.

But not only that - she also tried emptying her hoover outside the front of her house to help, too, apparently taking inspiration from a Facebook post after her cat went missing for things to try.

And, to be fair, it did help!

Four-year-old Bob turned up after being missing for nine days, bringing the family to "euphoric" tears.

Well, we're glad it worked for Samantha, but we're not sure we'll be trying this one ourselves...

Would you try Samantha's method of bringing her cat home? Let us know over on Facebook and Twitter.
