The Beckhams are unapologetically proud and protective of their four children, with their youngest, Harper Seven, turning 13 this summer.

In recent months, mum Victoria has posted videos of the teenager experimenting with her make-up line – including colouring her eyebrows in a tutorial on Instagram and trying her new lip range earlier this month.

And insiders now say that David, 49, fears their only daughter is growing up too fast.

“David is concerned that Vic is trying to morph Harper into her,” a source tells Closer. “He’s worried about their teenage daughter not only being thrust further into the spotlight, but also feels she has to grow up too fast because of her famous family.

“Vic and David have seen how affected the boys have been by criticism and backlash growing up, and they’re even more protective of Harper, given girls are typically far more impressionable at this age.”

As well as testing out her mum’s beauty products, Harper – who has three older brothers, Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, and Cruz, 19 – has previously joined Victoria, 50, at glamorous events such as Vogue-hosted soirées. And only last week, the teenager was pictured wearing a £7,000 Cartier bracelet, thought to be a jewellery brand favoured by Meghan Markle.

And now, a source says that Posh’s intention is to slowly prepare Harper for her journey into adulthood.

The insider explains, “Vic has also assured David that she is just as conscious as he is about protecting their daughter. She has vowed not to go overboard and keep a healthy balance to ensure Harper doesn’t grow up too fast.”
