McFly's Danny Jones reveals that his beloved grandmother passed away just hours after meeting his baby

Danny Jones has revealed that his grandmother passed away just a few hours after meeting his baby son Cooper for the first time.

The McFly musician, whose wife Georgia gave birth to their first child Cooper in January, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram with a beautiful photo of his "Nan" Peggy, and his late grandfather.

In the emotional snap, in which Peggy could be seen with her late husband on their wedding day, Danny had written a message over the top.

It read: "My nan has left us and gone to heaven. Say hello to Grandad for me. RIP Nan."

But it was his wife Georgia who revealed the truly emotional story behind her death, telling her followers that she had died mere hours after meeting their four-month-old son Cooper for the first time.

She posted a beautiful photo of Peggy and Cooper, writing: "After a day filled with lots of lovely Cooper cuddles our gorgeous Peggy sadly passed away. An amazing woman & the most wonderful Nan-in-law. You will be missed so very much."

She posted the same photo on her Instagram story, writing: "Shortly after this photo was taken, this gorgeous lady left us forever.

"RIP Peggy, I was lucky to have you in my life and so glad you got to meet your great grandson."

The couple were inundated with messages of support from their fans, with many writing: "Sorry for your loss," and: "Such a beautiful photo to treasure forever!"

Our thoughts are with Danny and his family at this sad time. ❤️
