Coleen Rooney is planning to launch a TV career to prove she’s not just the long-suffering wife
She appeared to put on a brave face amid her latest marriage troubles, enjoying the funfair in Blackpool with her young sons to celebrate the last day of the school holidays. Coleen, 33, shared a series of adorable snaps of her and the boys at the seaside resort last week, following allegations over Wayne partying with other women.
Coleen was dealt a humiliating blow when the “mystery brunette” with whom Wayne was snapped after a seven-hour bender in Canada last month claimed the footballer stripped to his boxers alongside three women at a Jacuzzi party (Wayne denies any wrongdoing).
Now insiders say that the mum of four, who in the days following the scandal was pictured looking tearful and, at one point, without her wedding ring, is determined to shake off her image as Wayne’s “long-suffering wife” by planning a TV comeback.
A source says, “Coleen’s extremely embarrassed by the latest claims, but she’s adamant she won’t be pitied and seen as weak. She wants to prove she’s a strong, independent woman who isn’t just turning a blind eye to Wayne’s stupidity.
“She’s determined to start carving out a career for herself again. She’s considering more work in TV presenting or fashion – something to get her confidence back up and change what she feels is the public’s view of her as the jilted wife.”

Before giving up her career ambitions to raise their sons – Kai, nine, Klay, six, Kit, three, and 19-month-old Cass – Coleen had her own reality TV show, Coleen’s Real Women, in 2009, where she helped non-models land advertising campaigns.
The latest scandal was a fresh setback for the couple, who celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary in June and recently announced plans to quit their life in America.
It comes days after reports that Coleen had slapped her errant husband with a booze ban, and she was pictured marching him through a Washington airport to fly back home to the UK.
In February the footballer, 33, was caught up in a ten-hour boozing session with a blonde barmaid after celebrating with his D.C. United teammates. Coleen forgave him for a similar incident in 2017, which resulted in a conviction for drink-driving following a boozy night out with office worker Laura Simpson.

At the time of Wayne’s arrest, Coleen issued a statement saying she was standing by him, and insisted that the public shouldn’t feel sorry for her.
“I’m a strong person. I don’t feel sorry for myself. I am not stupid. I know my own mind," she said.
The source adds, “Coleen is furious with Wayne for putting her through this all over again, but she’s not prepared to break up their family over his drunken stupidity when he’s a great father and husband 99 per cent of the time.
“She feels she’s got all the power now. She wants to bounce back and re-establish herself in the spotlight, and now that she’s back in the UK she’s getting the wheels in motion. She has arranged meetings with a new stylist and social media experts to get her ‘powerful woman’ public persona back."
