The news of Angelina Jolie filing for divorce from husband Brad Pitt has shocked the world, and has been one of the biggest media stories of the year.

After being together for 10 years, Brad and Angelina decided to tie the knot in 2014, but sadly after only two years in holy matrimony, the pair have decided to part ways).

In the legal documents, which came to light on 15 September, Angelina cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ and asked for full custody of their six children.

Amid claims of cheating, drug abuse, and more recently, child abuse, Brad has stated that his primary focus is the ‘well-being’ of his children.

He said in a statement to PEOPLE: "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids.

"I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."

Many fans of the Hollywood couple have questioned whether Brad and Angelina signed a prenuptial agreement before getting married, and now TMZ reports that they did.

A source told them that their prenup cited exactly who would get what, and that the agreement is ‘ironclad’ detailing the specifics of their combined fortune – a reported $400 million.

In total, the pair have 12 properties together, all of which were purchased before they were wed, or before they even dated. Seven belong to Brad, two to Ange, and three were bought together.

The three properties owned together include a vineyard in France, a mansion in New Orleans and an apartment in New York, according to the report.

The news has been rife with rumours about Brad and Angelina having disagreements about the divorce, and so the potential controversy could be down to the custody of their children.

A source told Us Weekly that Ange has now “blocked all incoming text messages and also Brad’s numbers”.
