If you’re serious about getting fit, or even if you’re just a seasoned fitness fanatic, chances are you’ve got, or are looking for, an effective way to track your progress with a fitness tracker.

The latest and best Fitbits are far more advanced than they used to be, doing much more than just counting how many steps you take every day. They’re all-encompassing activity trackers that give Apple’s Watch a real run for its money, but without breaking the bank.

The best part is that there’s a vast range of models to choose from. Whether you want something simple to use to an all-singing, all-dancing fitness tracker, Fitbit has you covered.

Fitbit Sense Advanced1 of 5

Fitbit Sense Advanced

If you're looking for the most advanced Fitbit that'll monitor all things health-related, the Fitbit Sense is the top pick for you. Not only does it have a seriously chic and polished design that makes it look premium in comparison to other smartwatches on the market, but it can also 'sense' everything from your skin temperature to heart rate and menstrual health. You can track and manage stress and even assess your heart rhythm with the compatible Fitbit ECG app as well as having classic features included such as GPS, water-resistance up to 50m, and daily activity tracking.
It's the most expensive option on our list, but we think it's worth it for all the features included.

Promising review: "The most complete health tracking watch that there is, especially for women! A plethora of sensors and vital health insights."

Specification
• Battery life: Up to six days
• Colour display: Yes
• Built-in GPS: Yes
• Water resistant: Yes - up to 50m
• Compatibility: Compatible with iOS 12.2 or higher & Android OS 7.0 or higher

Fitbit Versa 32 of 5

Fitbit Versa 3

This is one of Fitbit's latest smartwatches, the Versa 3. A dead ringer for the Apple Watch, the Versa 3 packs an awful lot of features. Not only does it display real-time exercise statistics, but it also permanently shows the time on its screen – you don't have to tap or move it to light it up.
On top of this, Amazon Alexa is built-in for voice control and commands, and it'll let you know if you've got any notifications from your phone, be it phone calls, messages, or more. Not only that, you can store music playlists on the watch to go with your workouts.

Promising review: "A solid fitness watch with great features. Synchronisation with Fitbit app is good. Provides you with data on many health parameters including oxygen levels, RHRs, BPM, and skin temperature while sleeping. The watch takes a couple of days to analyze your activities and becomes more accurate with usage. This watch also has GPS, so you don't need to carry your mobile with you while working out. Overall, very satisfied with this buy."

Specification
• Battery life: Up to six days
• Colour display: Yes
• Built-in GPS: Yes
• Water resistant: Yes - up to 50m
• Compatibility: Compatible with iOS 12.2 or higher & Android OS 7.0 or higher

Fitbit Inspire 23 of 5

Fitbit Inspire 2

The more advanced version of the Fitbit Inspire, the Inspire 2 is a great fitness tracker for first-timers. It's simple to use with the usual features you'd expect and make use of in your fitness journey. It tracks what you're up to all day, knowing when you're exercising and when you're not, but also tracks how you sleep. It even gives you gentle reminders to move and get active and offers heart monitoring that you won't get with the regular Inspire tracker.

Promising review: "I am a first time Fitbit user and although I haven’t had it for long I think it’s amazing! The app is so easy to use and I was mind blown at the sleep tracking. Also, I can actually see my steps being tracked and looks pretty accurate. I have very narrow wrists so I worried about the watch looking too clunky but it isn’t at all. I also hate sleeping with anything on me but this didn’t bother me in the slightest. I decided to try this Fitbit before I spent ALL the money on a smart watch I may never wear. Best decision! So far I am loving it."

Specification
• Battery life: Up to 10 days
• Colour display: No
• Built-in GPS: No
• Water resistant: Yes - up to 50m
• Compatibility: Compatible with iOS 12.2 or higher & Android OS 7.0 or higher

Fitbit Luxe4 of 5

Fitbit Luxe

If you're looking for a Fitbit that looks the least like a fitness tracker and that you can seamlessly coordinate with all your outfits, the Fitbit Luxe is super sleek and arguably the most wearable in this case. Much like the other Fitbits, the Luxe is great for fitness and wellness management, including stress, and can track steps and distance, is water-resistant to 50m, and actually boasts more features compared to the Inspire 2. It has skin temperature and heart rate variation tracking.

Promising review: "The latest Fitbit Luxe is ideal for those looking for a more classy type of watch. It is more basic as it's not as much a smartwatch as other models. You can still receive texts, emails etc as well as the other Fitbit features. While some report screen is small, I think it readable, it's ok, looks smart and you can have interchangeable bands. It's slimmer, less bulky than the charges - closer to the Inspire.
"It's also the first Fitbit with a colour screen. I've ordered a bracelet case band for a more dressy look and use the silicone type one for everyday use. It's so comfortable and has no skin strap reactions, unlike previous Fitbits I've tried. If you're looking more for the basics and an aesthetic look then this is for you. If you're looking for an all-singing and dancing with GPS etc. then go for a smartwatch type!"

Specification
• Battery life: Up to five days
• Colour display: Yes - vibrant AMOLED display
• Built-in GPS: No
• Water resistant: Yes - up to 50m
• Compatibility: Compatible with iOS 12.2 or higher & Android OS 7.0 or higher

Fitbit Ace 35 of 5

Fitbit Ace 3

Want to get the kids involved and inspire them to stay active too? The Fitbit Ace 3 is a brightly coloured tracker for your young ones, with fun fonts on the display and characters to appeal to their fun side. It lasts up to eight days on a charge, is water-resistant up to 50m, and tracks that they're getting enough rest, as well enough moments of activity.

Promising review: "This is a great item for children. They are encouraged to complete the challenges and the screen displays grow with the steps so they can see rockets take off, plants grow, and other things as they increase their steps daily. I also like to see their sleep and how much they are getting. It shows you from when they wake to when they sleep. I would love for them to add more detailed features so I can see how many times my child wakes up during the night, see their floors and other features that adult ones have. Switching between your app screen to the children's one sometimes takes a long time unless you do it daily."

Specification
• Battery life: Up to eight days
• Colour display: No
• Built-in GPS: No
• Water resistant: Yes - up to 50m
• Compatibility: Compatible with iOS 12.2 or higher & Android OS 7.0 or higher

The best Fitbit: Our verdict

So which is the best? It really depends on the features you're looking for, whether that's a fitness tracker purely for, well, tracking fitness, or a Fitbit designed more like a smartwatch so you have everything you need on your wrist.

But there’s more than just that; with each Fitbit, you can interchange wristbands and straps, so you don’t have to settle for just one colour, and there’s even a set of Fitbit scales for a rounded approach to getting fit, tracking progress and staying in shape.

For us, we're a big fan of the Fitbit Charge 5 which lasts seven days on a charge, is great value, can go with you into the pool and comes in a variety of colours. It has had a chic, design overhaul and comes with a free 6-month Fitbit premium membership. But if you're looking to say a little extra money, we'd still recommend the Fitbit Charge 4 with a simpler interface.
