Even though face coverings are now compulsory to wear in shops, takeaways and on public transport, it’s been difficult enough to convince some grown-ups to wear them, let alone our kids.

But a cute design makes them all the more appealing to wear (other than, you know, their potentially life-saving properties) and some of our favourite high-street retailers have been competing for the best designs.

And now trusty Marks and Sparks have entered their offering into the ring and have even thought of the little ones with playful prints and adjustable ear straps.

Just like M&S pants (aka the best pants in the world), these masks come in packs of five for under a tenner making them great value for the high quality you can expect.

The machine washable cotton masks are even treated with an antibacterial coating to keep them fresher for longer, though Public Health England recommends washing your face covering after every use.

“Masks should fit snuggly and comfortably across your face, covering your nose and mouth and stretched over your chin,” says M&S on the product. “Care should be taken on removal of masks after use. These are not medical grade face masks. These face coverings are not suitable for children under 36 months”

It's important to remember that face masks shouldn't replace frequent hand washing and social distancing measures still remain in place.

Invest in a good hand wash to motivate you to wash them regularly and always remember to stay two metres apart from anyone who isn't in your household.
