How to apply mineral foundation?
Step one: Shake a small amount of the powder into the lid.
Step two: Take your brush and lightly swirl it in the powder.
Step three: Tap off the excess powder - this is important to stop you from looking cakey and spilling it all over the floor.
Step four: Gently apply the foundation on your nose, chin, forehead, cheeks and eyelids.
Yes, yes, yes. 👏

This has good ingredients and so much cheaper, covers my acne marks really nicely and good colour match".
Rating: 4.8 out of 5 stars**Shades: Porcelain, China doll, Blondie, Candy cane, Warm peach, Barely buff, In the buff, Popsicle, Popcorn, Cookie, Cool caramel, Warm honey, Butterscotch, Dusky, Coffee bean, Hot chocolate, Saffron, Cinnamon, Truffle and Bon Bon.Tried and tested review:**After applying primer, a light dusting of this foundation gave good coverage on my nose and cheeks for a day-to-day look. Suffering from acne has left my chin area with blemishes and scars; although this foundation did reduce the redness, I still needed to use a cover-up stick for a flawless finish.Experimenting with fuller coverage, this mineral foundation did not make me look cakey and left my skin glowing. We've all wasted money on buying the wrong colour match, right? We love the fact that you can purchase a sample and buy refills, which will reduce how much plastic you use.

Review:** "I was a bit sceptical seeing as it was so cheap but I really love this powder. This is the second time I've bought it. My skin looks great when I have it on and it covers blemishes and pores really well. I even think it improves my complexion. Will keep buying over and over again."
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars**Shades:** G+50, G30, G40, G50, N10 and N25. **Review: "**This is my holy grail powder - I am super oily and also quite acne prone. This powder never makes me breakout and keeps me matte through my long 12-hour shifts as a nurse. People always compliment me on my make-up, and I tell them all about this foundation. Love it."
Rating: 4.4 out of 5 stars**Shade: Translucent Review:** "Brilliant cover up - I don't use anything else anymore - after moisturising I apply powder and that's it - no foundation/concealer the powder works fine all by itself - covers my red cheeks and softens lines".
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars**Shades: Amber, bisque, caramel, golden glow, honey bronze, latte, light beige, natural, radiant, satin, suntan, warm silk, warm sienna and latte. Review:** "At first I thought it would take several coats to give good coverage. But it simply takes a couple of moments to work. It needs to be worked in to the skin. It gives a lovely covering. It feels nice on the skin and lasts well. I usually use Clarins/Dior and similar brands. But, I will now never look back."

I've been using this mineral foundation for three years now after being very happy with bare minerals. Lovely quality, goes on easily and looks natural. No harmful ingredients, good colour range. I've got incredibly sensitive skin that tends to get breakouts."

Tried and tested review:** "I've finally found a powder that hasn't broken me out in spots. This easy-to-apply foundation is everything I need from a powder - it gives good coverage, feels gentle on the skin and lasted all day long."The only thing I would say is that it can sometimes be hard to get the powder out of the little holes, so just give the bottom of the pot a little tap."
Rating: 4 out of 5 starsShades: New IvoryTried and tested review: "I have quite fair skin and I use this product and I love it. I always use concealer 1st in areas I want to keep bright (under eyes, middle of forehead, centre of nose and chin), I then go in lightly with the mineral powder around those areas and it blends seamlessly. I wear it everyday without any trouble."

Do you want more tips? We've answered some popular questions around mineral foundation that should help during your daily beauty regime.
Is mineral foundation better for your skin?
According to bareMinerals, "due to the lack of Parabens, binders and fillers, mineral makeup is hypoallergenic, making it the best choice for sensitive skin and those with acne concerns, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema."
What brush to use for mineral foundation?
If you're looking for concealer-like coverage, a Kabuki brush will be your best friend. Check out our article on the best foundation brushes for more options. Or, if you want to get all your brushes in one fell swoop, why not take a look at these babein' make-up brush sets?
Can mineral foundation expire?
Like all make-up, this will come with a recommended expiration date because its exposure to light, air and humidity can change the product. We'd recommend getting a new powder every 18 months.
How to apply the L'Oréal mineral powder foundation?
Since we've recommended the oh-so-affordable L'Oréal mineral powder foundation, we thought we'd take you through how the brand recommend applying it:
Start by using a dense but fluffy brush, like a kabuki and then, L'Oréal say, "Press the brush into the mineral foundation and swirl around to pick up the foundation.
"Tap away the excess and apply."
By apply, we'd suggest buffing the powder into your skin, taking extra care around the nasal crease and eyes to avoid the product looking cakey.
