Charmaine Wilson, 25, faked a DNA test and forged her son’s birth certificate in order to fool Liam Griffiths into thinking that her baby was his.
Griffith was planning to build a house on his parent’s land to support Wilson and her son.

In reality, Wilson’s two-year-old son was fathered by one of her friends, though the biological father had no clue about what had been going on.
Liam Griffiths told the Daily Mirror: “The only word I can use to describe Charmaine and what she has done is mental and I cannot believe she would deceive me in this way.”
He added: “I am devastated and heartbroken to have lost a child that I thought was my son and had bonded with this child.
“We fell in love with him from the start and I am heartbroken to have lost him.”
Liam’s parents also believed Wilson’s fraudulent claims. They gave the mother several expensive gifts, including a car to help her get to work.

Liam and Charmaine met during a night out in 2012 and had sex on the same evening. Liam was not interested in seeing her following the one-night-stand, but Ms Wilson became ‘obsessed’, stalking him on social media and forcing Mr Griffiths to change his number.
His mum, Catherine Thomas, said: “I cannot think of words to say about how awful it is that a human being could deceive another in this way and cause the hurt and upset it has done to our family.”
