Yi Wei, 24, spent days searching for her designer handbags and was unable to find them in the mess that had taken over her bedroom.
She soon discovered that her Gucci purse- which contained £300 and 200 euros- had been taken.
A judge at Hull Crown Court heard: “The complainant didn't seem to be aware she had been burgled. A search of the room, with the aid of a friend, failed to recover it."

Wei, who is from China but studying in the UK, returned to her home and found her room to be ‘messier’ than usual. Handbags worth between £90 and £400 had been taken.
Shockingly, the theft was carried out by one of Miss Wei’s housemates and his ‘associates’.
Her housemate, Robert Rogers, 33, has admitted to burglary and handling stolen goods. He was caught after being involved in a traffic accident after committing the crimes.
Police found most of Miss Wei’s stolen property in the boot of Rogers’ car.
He has been sentenced to 8 months in prison- suspended for 12 months- and must undergo 6 months of treatment for alcohol abuse.
Rogers is still living in the property, whilst Miss Wei has reportedly returned to her family in China.
