A mum-of-three has been slammed after revealing on This Morning that she makes her six-year-old daughter weigh herself every day

Nadia Udin has put a very controversial rule in place in her household.

After her six-year-old daughter Shifaria was teased at school for being "fat", she imposed a daily weigh-in for the little girl, who is the middle child of three girls.

Nadia, who appeared on This Morning to discuss her contentious parenting technique, previously wrote about her choice for Fabulous, and went on the show earlier today to hit back at criticism she's recently faced.

Speaking to Emma Willis and Rylan Clark-Neal, who are standing in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield for their Easter break, Nadia revealed that she inducted the rule as a result of bullying at school.

She revealed that the weighing is a bid to "guard against puppy fat," which she believes will empower her daughter to stand up to the bullies.

Of her own childhood, Nadia said: "I think I was the greedy one out of the four of us. I would say, 'Mum can I have more?'

"She would say, 'That’s your share but if you want more you can have more'. But of course, I would never have more after I had my share."

Nadia also said that it's a "different time," and added: "Becoming a mum you are seeing different challenges. I weigh myself every day."

When asked if her mum ever weighed her, she said: "No, not that I can remember."

Hmm.

But defending her choices, Nadia said that she makes it "fun" for Shifaria, who Nadia revealed to Fabulous weighs 5st 4lbs and is 4’2": "When I jump on the scales, she jumps on as well. We have a laugh about it.

"The name calling, she’s going to be more affected by that. Why not take control and do something about it?"

Rylan asked what she would do if her daughter ever gained weight, Nadia said: "I would be doing something wrong.

"If she’s putting on weight it could be that I’m putting to much oil into the food. You need to make adjustments. There has to be a balance in life. She had an Easter egg but she knows not to have it all. I even weigh the baby."

Emma, who herself is mum to Isabelle, eight, Ace, six, and 22-month-old Trixie, couldn't hold back and said: "I think it’s pretty controversial as a parent of a young daughter who’s eight and a son who’s six.

"I’ve never weighed them, they are kids. I feel kids should be kids and not consumed with body image or numbers on a scale."

Of course, many of This Morning's viewers agreed with Emma, and took to Twitter to vent.

While no-one actually agreed with the weighing, a couple of people were intrigued by the general idea.
