The message begins with the woman revealing that she has been struggling to lose weight for years - and that it stems from the fact that she was too embarrassed to go to the gym or running in case people stared at her.

She wrote on Reddit: "I am overweight, and have struggled with my weight on and off for a few years. The biggest de-motivator when it came to working out is what I THOUGHT people thought of me.

"I even disliked walking outside because I felt like people driving by in their cars were staring me down. Weird - I know.

"I was able to put this anxiety aside this morning, woke up early, and went to a 'boxing' aerobics class. I introduced myself to several of the women there, and they were all extremely supportive and nice, and they reassured me that everyone looks silly bouncing around; I should concentrate on having fun!"

However, despite the support of the women around her, there were others at the gym who did not share their views on body acceptance.

The woman explained: "The class is about to start, and two guys walk in and start walking on treadmills that overlook the class. Over the next hour, they proceeded to point and laugh at me...the. entire. time."

While most people would slink away with a red face, vowing never to go back, this woman has responded to those fat-shaming men in an utterly inspirational way.

She said:* "I get it - I'm overweight, my kibble and bits are flying everywhere, and I probably look like Elaine trying to stay in rythem and keep up with all the kicks, punches, and squats. Ya know what though...I'm there! Im trying!! So why...why would you make it even harder on someone who is obviously struggling already?!*

"Those jerks won't discourage me though. Ill be back there tomorrow, wearing my goofball badge with pride."
