Research has found the top 10 life events that cause British adults to appreciate their lives even more.
The study, undertaken by Bupa Health Clinics, found that two-fifths of British people have never considered that their health might be able to help them achieve their ambitions.
Half of those studied have never thought about how being fit and healthy could have an impact on their professional career, and 44% said that they overlook how good physical health can have a say in your social life.

Of the 4,062 adults surveyed, a whopping nine in 10 have had a life experience which has made them think about how much they appreciate their life.
But two-thirds of people take their health for granted, and four in five think they could do to appreciate life a little more.

1) A health issue
A problem or scare with your health can really make people reassess their life and see what's more important.
2) A bereavement
The death of a family member or loved one can put reality into perspective for some people.
3) Having a baby
The new addition of a baby into a family is such a life-changing moment that it would be hard NOT to appreciate your life!
4) Something that happens in the news
Reading about something shocking in the news or hearing it on the radio could jolt someone into considering their life.
5) Getting married
Another hugely life-altering moment is getting hitched - even if you're not the one getting married, attending a wedding can really make you think about what's important in life.
6) Going travelling
More and more people are travelling to open their mind and explore the world - this can totally change your opinion on important life events.
7) Moving house
Moving to a new place can really open your mind and make you consider things you might not have thought about before.
8) Becoming a grandparent
In a similar vein to having a baby yourself, a new child in the family can make you reassess how you see yourself - particularly if you're now a grandparent!
9) A break-up
A break-up can be one of the most devastating things to happen in life, but it can also be a blessing in disguise.
10) A career change
A complete overhaul of your career could force you to think about your life in general, and what you want out of it.
