food envy

Apparently, over half of Brits have suffered from food envy when out for dinner with friends or family

We've all been there - you're out for dinner with your family or friends, and you order something safe from the menu.

But when your food comes, you look over at what your dad's got and think, DAMN.

Feelings of jealousy bubble up inside you until you can't help but comment on their food until they relent and FINALLY offer you a bit.

And it's normally so delicious that you can't help but absolutely hate yourself for being so blimmin' safe with your own choice.

Well, my friends - that now has a name. It's called food envy.

According to research undertaken on behalf of Just Eat, Brits are suffering from food every once a week - and a third of Brits say they're more likely to suffer from this very specific emotion in January than any other time of year.

Why, you ask? Well, mostly because a lot of people try and restrict their diet to mind-numbingly boring meals so that they can say they've "been good."

When all they really want, apparently, is pizza.

Pizza and burgers.

What a surprise!

Here are the top 10 main course dishes that are most likely to cause food envy...
