If you’re wondering why your Facebook newsfeed looks a bit different today, it may be because the sites you follow have been affected by a technical glitch.

The ‘pages’, which are different to a personal profile, have been hit by a bug which is preventing them from posting updates to the site.

Many of the pages affected are news outlets and official pages, meaning that you might notice your newsfeed is lacking a little fresh news today. Those who have attempted to update their page with newer content have been receiving warnings of an error and are advised to wait and try again later.

Although it is a minor glitch, the fact that Facebook remains one of the biggest platforms for sharing news and breaking stories means that millions of people will be behind when it comes to receiving their news.

It is unclear when this issue will be fixed but it seems that posting from the app could be a solution to the current problem.

Update

Facebook has since apologised for the inconvenience caused today as a result of a global bug and has recommended users recreate and publish or schedule posts.

Closer was experiencing similar issues with our Facebook page this morning, but should now be working as usual.
