Bradley Lowery's mum Gemma has shared a heartbreaking photo of herself and her son on her first Mother's Day without him
Bradley Lowery's legacy has lived on since he tragically passed away from neuroblastoma last July, but his mum Gemma had to face her first Mother's Day without him yesterday.
Little Bradley, who passed away at just six-years-old last year, will be remembered for the astounding charity work he and his family were able to do - but that didn't make the day any easier for Gemma, who took to Facebook to share a poignant message to his fans.
Posting a photo of herself helping her son in the bath as well as a photo collage of her and him together, Gemma's post was utterly heartbreaking.

She wrote: "Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mothers today. I can’t put a brave face on today, I can’t be strong today, I’m heartbroken and my grief is hurting me so bad.
"This is my first Mother’s Day away from my baby boy and it’s painful and I miss him so so much. This pain I’m feeling right now, the tears that are rolling down my cheeks, is the reason I work so hard to get the other children the much-needed treatment."
Admitting that she knew the first photo might cause a stir, Gemma said: "This photo that I have used in this post is a hard one to see and not everyone will agree with me putting it on but this is reality. Bradley asked for a bath with me, I knew it would be our last ever bath.
"I don’t want a parent to ever have to do this. I've also put a one on that is happy memories because that’s what Bradley is known for, his big smile."
We're thinking of Gemma and all the other mums who have lost little ones at this difficult time. ❤️
