Cheng Cheng, 2, reportedly had wine as a baby to stop him crying.

But new reports have revealed that the two-year-old now screams and cries for his alcohol - and his parents are desperately trying to wean him off it, before he is taken into care.

His aunt Cai Teng in the eastern province of Anhui said to Shanghaiist: “All of us in the family have already thought that this child can really drink a lot when he grows up.

"His eyes are always on the alcohol bottles. "

"We can only try our best to store the bottles in a place which he cannot see them."

She worryingly added that, during big festivals, the little boy will cry for alcohol when he saw relatives and friends drinking - because he was desperate to join in.

The boy’s appreciation for wine started at 10 months when his father gave him chopsticks dipped in wine after he kept reaching for dad’s glass of wine.

Just a few days ago, she revealed, the boy’s father was drinking a beer and gave his son a sip. But the little boy downed the entire bottle.

Pediatricians in mainland China said that the body and organs in children at this age are not well-developed. A little bit of alcohol can easily harm their health.
