29-year-old Louise Winstanley was diagnosed with cancer at eight months pregnant

A young mum has passed away after being diagnosed with cancer at eight months pregnant.

Louise Winstanley, 29, from Liverpool, went into hospital for a routine blood test, but was devastatingly diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

Louise and her fiancé, Peter Doran, made the excrutiating decision to induce their baby girl, who was born via caesarean on 4 January, so that she could start chemotherapy treatment in a bid to save her life.

But after suffering complications from a stem cell transplant, Louise has tragically passed away only five months later.

Louise was able to spend just two months with her newborn baby girl and two-year-old son Jaxon before she went into hospital for a stem cell transplant.

The mum-of-two unfortunately contracted an infection whilst undergoing the treatment, which shut down her kidneys and liver, and died on 14 May after suffering from a bleed on the brain.

A Go Fund Me page has now been set up by Alexis Winstanley, a member of Louise's family.

She wrote: "Beautiful, kind, caring and loved. A mum, daughter, fiancée, auntie, sister, cousin and friend. Just some of the words to describe Louise Rose Winstanley.

"She overcame so many obstacles on this journey, making us so proud of her strength and determination to beat this cruel disease.

"Louise will forever be in our hearts throughout the rest of our lives. We will see her always in her children Jaxon and Harlow every day as they grow up and make her so proud. Sleep tight beautiful angel."

Lime Marketing, Louise's employers, also wrote a touching tribute to her: "It was with great sadness we learnt that a beloved member of the Lime family lost her battle with such a cruel illness.

"Louise was, and will forever be remembered as a pivotal part of our Customer Service team who always took the time to help where it was needed; be it her colleagues or her customers.

"Our glam Scouse girl and her sparkling smile never failed to keep the office in high spirits – delivering an infectious outbreak of laughter among her colleagues daily. During this time, we are reminded how precious life and friendships are – and of course to take Louise’s lead and remember to make each other laugh.

"Those of us closest to Louise have a multitude of memories to find comfort in – but all agree that our days will be duller without her here to make new ones. The Company send their sincerest sympathies and support to Louise’s family. Lou, things won’t be the same without you."

The family have raised a massive £19,340 in a trust fund for her children.
