Linda Nolan has spoken out about her heartbreaking terminal cancer diagnosis after it was revealed earlier this week.

The singer’s sister, Celebrity Big Brother winner Coleen Nolan, told Loose Women viewers of the sad news during her regular appearance on the show this week.

And Linda, who was in a pop group with her sisters in her younger years, has now revealed her fears and sadness as a result of the illness, which is treatable but "incurable".

She told the Daily Mirror: “When I was down in my worst depression after my husband Brian died, all I wanted was to be with him.

“But slowly I was able to see there was so much to live for. Then all of a sudden, here I am and I could die and it is all out of my control. Believe me, I can see the irony.”

She continued: “I am really scared. I don’t want to die. All my little nieces and nephews, my step-children and step-grandchildren, they are my life now because I never had children.

“And when they come in to the hospital to visit me, I think, ‘Oh my God, I wanted got see you get married or see you with your first boyfriend.’

“And I want to grow old with my family… There is so much I want to do. I have to be positive and make sure I do.”

Linda previously battled breast cancer in 2006 but was in remission for six years.

Unfortunately doctors then found she had secondary cancer when she went into hospital for a hip scan.

However, the star is doing her best not to think of herself as only having a short time left.

Speaking of the diagnosis on Loose Women, sister Coleen said: “Linda wants to get it across that she’s not dying of cancer, she’s living with cancer.

“They’ve said it is treatable, she could have years. We have to focus on that.”
